Resolving Tenant Access Issues Caused by Expired Login Sessions in Amperity

Overview

Sometimes a user may already be added to an Amperity tenant with the correct roles but still see messages like:

  • You don’t have access to any tenants

  • Missing features such as Journeys or Sandboxes

  • Login works only in an incognito or private browser window

This article explains why this happens and how to fix it.

Why This Happens

In Amperity, user access relies on time-bound authentication tokens.

This issue commonly occurs when:

  • The login session or authentication token has expired

  • Browser cache holds an outdated session

  • Access exists, but the session does not refresh correctly

In these cases:

  • The user does have tenant access

  • The issue is related to session state, not permissions

Step 1: Refresh the Login Session

Start by forcing a fresh authentication token.

Recommended steps:

  1. Open an incognito/private browser window

  2. Go to the Amperity login page

  3. Log in again using your normal credentials

This clears cached session data and generates a new token.

Once access is restored, you do not need to keep using incognito mode.

Step 2: Confirm Feature Visibility

After logging in successfully:

  • Journeys are available under Activations

  • If Journeys were missing earlier, refreshing the session usually restores them

If a feature is still missing, it may be related to role or policy assignment.

Step 3: Understanding Sandbox Visibility

If you do not see any sandboxes:

  • It does not always mean access was removed

  • Sandboxes are only visible if:

    • They exist, and

    • The sandbox owner has explicitly added you

If you previously had access:

  • Ask the sandbox owner to re-add you

  • Once access is granted again, the sandbox will reappear automatically

When to Contact Support

Contact Amperity Support if:

  • Incognito login does not restore access

  • Tenant access still shows as missing

  • Features remain unavailable after session refresh

Support can confirm access, roles, and policy assignment.

Best Practices

  • Log out and back in if access looks incorrect

  • Use incognito mode to troubleshoot session issues

  • Ensure sandbox owners re-add users after access changes

  • Remember that login tokens expire as part of normal security behavior

Summary

Most tenant access issues occur due to expired authentication tokens or cached sessions, not missing permissions.
Refreshing the session restores access, and sandbox visibility depends on being explicitly added by the sandbox owner.
