Unique Customer Count Table Showing No Data in Segment Summary

Overview

In some cases, users may notice that the Unique Customer Count table on a segment’s summary page displays no data, even though they believe segment tracking is enabled. This article explains the most common cause and how to resolve it.

Cause

This issue occurs when Segment Tracking is not actually enabled for the segment.

Even if users believe a segment is being tracked, the Enable Segment Tracking checkbox must be selected in the Segment Editor generate tracked metrics, including the Unique Customer Count.

If tracking is not enabled:

  • No historical data is captured.

  • Trend lines may appear flat.

How to Check if Segment Tracking Is Enabled

  1. Open the segment in Segment Editor.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Look for the Enable Segment Tracking checkbox.

  4. If the checkbox is not selected, the segment is not being tracked.

Resolution

To resolve the issue:

  1. Open the segment in Edit mode.

  2. Select the Enable Segment Tracking checkbox.

  3. Save the segment.

Once enabled, Amperity will begin collecting tracking data.
