Users may be unable to add The Trade Desk (TTD) as a destination if their assigned policy only provides read-only access. Assigning the correct role (DataGrid Operator or DataGrid Administrator) resolves the issue.
Problem
When trying to add The Trade Desk (TTD) as a new destination in Amperity, some users may find that the “Add Destination” button is unavailable or that they cannot complete the setup.
This typically happens when the user’s assigned policy does not include permissions to create or modify destinations.
Solution
Follow these steps to resolve the access issue and complete the setup for The Trade Desk (TTD):
-
Check Your Assigned Policy
Go to Settings → Users.
Review the policy assigned to your account.
If you have the Amp360 User policy, it provides read-only access to the Destinations page.
-
Update Policy (Admin Step)
-
Ask your Amperity administrator to assign one of the following roles:
DataGrid Operator – for production environments.
DataGrid Administrator – for sandbox environments.
These roles allow full access to create, edit, or delete destinations.
-
-
Reopen the Destination Page
Once the updated policy is applied, refresh the Destinations page.
You should now be able to add The Trade Desk (TTD) as a new destination.
-
Verify Integration and Data Privacy
Amperity sends first-party identifiers (email, UID2, or EUID) securely to The Trade Desk for audience activation.
The Trade Desk does not allow exporting or downloading of raw customer data after ingestion.
For details, see Send audiences to The Trade Desk.
Expected Behavior
After updating your policy and syncing permissions, you will be able to successfully add The Trade Desk (TTD) destination and send audiences without any permission errors.
Best Practices
Always confirm that your policy includes the correct access before adding or editing destinations.
Use UID2.0 or EUID identifiers for privacy-compliant audience sharing.
Review Amperity Policies Overview for more details on user roles and permissions.
