Sandbox Dropdown Access Issue in Amperity UI

Issue:

In some cases, even after sandbox access has been successfully provisioned, the sandbox dropdown is not visible in the Amperity UI.

Although the user has the appropriate sandbox permissions, the upper-right corner dropdown does not display any available sandboxes.
This issue prevents users from switching between sandboxes directly within the UI.

 

 

Cause:

  • Being provisioned with sandbox privileges does not automatically grant access to all sandboxes.

  • Access must be manually granted for each specific sandbox.

  • Users can view and access sandboxes via Settings → Sandboxes, but the dropdown only displays sandboxes where the user has explicit access.

This behavior ensures that sandbox access is controlled and secure.

Solution:

To resolve the issue, the user must add themselves to the specific sandbox they want to access in the dropdown.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Sandboxes
  2. Locate the specific sandbox you need access to
  3. Open the sandbox and add yourself to it
  4. Once added, you should be able to see the dropdown in the upper-right corner

Additional Notes / Best Practices:

  • Privilege ≠ Automatic Access: Being a sandbox admin does not automatically grant access to all sandboxes.

  • Repeat for Multiple Sandboxes: If access is needed for multiple sandboxes, repeat these steps for each.

  • SSO / Permission Checks: In some cases, SSO policies or internal permission settings may affect dropdown visibility. If issues persist, escalate to the admin or contact support.
